The Anatomy of Fraud and Corruption in the Era of COVID-19

Fraud has been around for as long as people have been trading with one another. Corruption, ever since a minority of society was entrusted with power over the minority. We will never eradicate either. However, we can manage them by accepting that they will appear and by working to make them as hard as possible to commit and as easy as possible to detect.

Hosted by two industry experts, Tim Salt, a serving police officer for 32 years, including heading a leading Fraud Squad, and Neil McCallum, who has worked around the world with public servants, politicians, the judiciary, and civil society on a range of anti-corruption and good governance issues, this webinar will focus on: – What has changed and what has stayed the same due to COVID-19? – The new vulnerabilities: home working, procurement in crisis, the risks of sudden redirection of funds and more – Prevention or Cure: options for reducing opportunities; strategies to reclaim money wrongly claimed and ‘write off’ or ‘chase down’?
