Upcoming crime prevention training sessions from the comfort of your own desk

Due to the recent success of the free crime prevention online training sessions, the Business Crime Advisor has planned sessions up until the end of the year. The sessions cover a number of topics each with a particular focus on a specific area of crime prevention. The sessions will last 30 minutes and can be viewed from the comfort of your own desk. The dates and topics are as follows:

11th September 1pm – Traditional Crime Prevention – Still a small number of spaces available!

18th October 1pm – Cyber Crime Prevention (Focus on Fraud) – Spaces available

13th November 1pm – Traditional Crime Prevention – Spaces available

11th December 1pm – Cyber Crime Prevention (Focus on General Data Protection Regulation, GDPR) – Spaces available

Crime prevention training session for businesses from the comfort of their own desks

Having previously delivered 2 sessions on cyber crime prevention for businesses where they can learn from the comfort of their own desks, the Business Crime Advisor is now going to be delivering a session on traditional crime prevention.

The session will take place on 11th September at 1pm and will cover a range of crime prevention measures from CCTV to utilising the physical environment to deter crime.

The beauty of this session is that it will be done online so there is no need for participants to leave their desks and it is completely free. For interested businesses, all they need to do is email alexcharleswilliams@warwickshire.gov.uk and they will receive instructions to join the training session.

Online cyber crime prevention training session for businesses back by popular demand!

Last month the Business Crime Advisor ran a cyber crime prevention session for businesses. The free session took place online and saw businesses logging in from the comfort of their desks.

Due to the popularity of the session we have had a number of requests to run the same session again for businesses. The session will take place on 26th July at 1pm. Online cyber crime prevention training session spaces filling up!

In response to increasing concerns from the Warwickshire business community around cyber crime, Warwickshire County Council’s Business Crime Advisor is running an online training session for businesses across the County. This will be the first of a number of sessions covering a variety of crime prevention topics.

The session will be delivered on 7th June at 1pm and will cover all of the practical ways in which business can protect themselves from cyber crime and fraud. The session has been very popular and therefore there are only a small number of spaces left. New online cyber crime training session launches to businesses enabling them to get the latest information on online crime from the comfort of their own desks over lunch.

Rural Crime Meeting at Ryton Organic Gardens on 24th January!

The evening has been arranged to provide information, advice and support to Farmers, Horse Owners, Fisheries & Rural Businesses predominantly in the rural ares of Rugby, Nuneaton and Bedworth. In attendance will be:

FSB Expo on 10th January 2017 including a Phishing Workshop! #B2BExpo17 #CyberCrime @FSBWarksCov

On Tuesday 10th January, the FSB, in conjunction with Touch Fm and the Belgrade Theatre are holding their annual Business Expo at the Belgrade Theatre.

The Expo offers networking, an expo and a suit of seminars for both those business owners just starting up and those wanting to take their businesses to the next level.

Event for Rural Businesses, Farmers and Horse Owners in North Warwickshire! @WarksRuralWatch

Warwickshire Rural Crime Project would like to invite you to a meeting to discuss rural crime and other issues that affect you on:

Present will be Staff from the Office of the Warwickshire Police & Crime Commissioner, a Senior Officer from Warwickshire Police, NFU, North Warks Community Safety Partnership, Warwickshire County Council including Trading Standards Animal Welfare, a representative from the Fire Service and Warwickshire Horse Watch.

There will also be information and displays on crime prevention and security equipment, Rural Watch and an opportunity to make an appointment to have your tools and equipment property marked at your farm or business premises.

ICO Conference on Data Protection for SMEs at the NEC

The ICO are running a half-day conference for Small and Medium Sized Businesses around the issue of Data Protection. The event will feature an address by the Federation of Small Businesses as well as a choice of workshops including records management, information security and subject access requests.
